Maharashtra cabinet expansion Ajit Pawar gets finance ministry
MUMBAI: Cabinet expansion has taken place in Maharashtra. Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, who recently split from the NCP and joined the NDA government, has been entrusted with the finance department. Another Deputy Chief Minister and BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis will continue as Home Minister. CM Eknath Shinde attached the Rural Development Department.
Senior leader Chagan Bhujbal, who left the NCP along with Ajit Pawar, was entrusted with the food and civil supplies department. Earlier, Bhujbal held the responsibility of the same department in the Grand Alliance government as well. Another cabinet minister, Danjay Munde, has been given the charge of the agriculture department.
On the 2nd of this month, Ajit Pawar left the Nationalist Congress Party led by his father and joined the NDA alliance in the state. In return, he was given the post of Deputy Chief Minister. Along with him, 8 others who left NCP were also sworn in as ministers on the same day.
