Raipur: A high-speed car collided with a divider and overturned in the capital Raipur on Monday night at around 12.30. Three people of the same family from Odisha, who were travelling in the car, were injured in the accident. One of the injured is a woman.
Golbazar police said that the car number CG 04 PR 1110 came fast from Phool Chowk around 12.30 pm and collided with the divider before Tatyapara Chowk. The divider in front of Kusum Tai Dabke School is very dangerous. Sometimes there is a danger of such an accident when it is dark or the headlights of a vehicle coming from the front are bright. The speed of the car was so high that after hitting the divider, it overturned and kept dragging for a long distance. It was also raining lightly at the time of the accident.
The car was carrying Tarun Makhija (25), Nilesh Kumar (21) and Manisha (50), residents of Balangir in Odisha. All three have sustained serious injuries. The police came to know that the family had gone to Odisha for some work and after returning, was going towards Ashoknagar Gudhiyari to meet an acquaintance in Raipur. Meanwhile, the accident occurred on the way. As soon as the information about the accident was received, Golbazar police reached the spot and Dial 112 personnel took the injured to Mekahara. Police said that during the rains, there was less traffic on the road, so the speed of the car may have been high. The police has also informed the family members of the injured about the incident.
