Major accident on Ghodbunder Road: Traffic disrupted between Thane and Mira Road due to multiple vehicle collision

Maharashtra: A major road accident occurred on Ghodbunder Road near Gaimukh Ghat in Thane on Friday morning, causing massive traffic jams on one of the city’s most important thoroughfares. The accident, which occurred around 7 a.m. on National Highway 48 (NH-48), caused several vehicles to collide with each other, leading to a major traffic jam in traffic heading towards Mira Road and Gujarat. According to reports, at least five to six vehicles collided head-on at a sharp turn near Gaimukh Ghat. The vehicles reportedly collided with each other at high speed, causing extensive damage. Footage from the scene shows several cars badly damaged, with some almost completely crushed.

The accident caused long traffic jams on Ghodbunder Road, a key route connecting Thane, western Mumbai, and Gujarat. Traffic on the Thane-to-Mira Road and Gujarat stretch was particularly affected, causing long delays for commuters during the morning rush hour.
