Major action in the NEET-UG 2026 rigging case: EOU nabs three accused, including the mastermind.

Patna. The Economic Offences Unit (EOU) has achieved a major breakthrough in the NEET-UG 2026 rigging and irregularity case. Acting on allegations of malpractice at three examination centers in Lakhisarai, the investigative agency arrested the gang’s alleged mastermind, Dr. Ravishankar (alias Samrat), his brother Ashwini Kumar, and another accused linked to NEET, Dr. Ujjwal Raj.

According to the EOU, the arrested individuals are accused of irregularities and orchestrating a “fix” (rigging) for the NEET exam. Investigations revealed that the gang had already made preparations to rig the upcoming NEET exam as well. The agency is now investigating the entire network and ascertaining the roles of other individuals involved.

The agency stated that Dr. Ravishankar and Dr. Ujjwal Raj were arrested outside the Aryabhatta Knowledge University examination center in the Jakkanpur area of Patna. Both are MBBS students who had arrived to appear for their third-year supplementary examinations; the EOU team apprehended them during this visit.

Reports indicate that Dr. Ravishankar and Dr. Ujjwal Raj are final-year MBBS students at Pawapuri Medical College in Nalanda district. Both are accused of involvement in the NEET-UG exam irregularities, with Dr. Ravishankar identified as the key mastermind behind the entire scheme.

The EOU investigation revealed that irregularities had occurred during the NEET exam at three centers in Lakhisarai. The agency had already been investigating the matter. Crucial information gathered during the probe led them to the accused.

The agency claims that the accused had established a network to rig the exam well in advance. The gang had devised a plan to assist candidates and secure their success through unfair means. The EOU is now gathering details regarding other individuals linked to this network and potential beneficiaries.

Several people have already been questioned in connection with this case. The investigative agency is continuously working to piece together the details of the case based on technical evidence, mobile records, and other information.

According to EOU officials, maintaining transparency in the examination is paramount, and strict action will be taken against anyone involved in any form of malpractice. The agency is attempting to determine the extent of the gang’s network and the number of individuals involved.

Lakhs of students appear for national-level examinations like NEET; consequently, any irregularity in the examination process can impact the students’ futures. In light of this, investigative agencies are taking swift action in such cases.

The EOU’s investigation is expected to intensify following the arrests of Dr. Ravishankar, Ashwini Kumar, and Dr. Ujjwal Raj. The agency will interrogate the arrested individuals in an effort to reach other members of the gang.

Officials state that legal action will be taken against anyone found guilty in the matter. Once the investigation concludes, the full extent of the network and the modus operandi of the malpractice may be revealed.

This action regarding the NEET-UG 2026 case is being viewed as a significant achievement for the investigative agency. The EOU has stated that its campaign to uphold transparency and fairness in examinations will continue.
