Major fire in textile showroom, loss worth crores

Auraiya. A fire broke out due to an electrical short circuit in a clothing showroom and agency of Hero MotoCorp in Kasba Sahar of Auraiya district in Uttar Pradesh on Sunday morning. Loss of crores is being feared in this accident.
The incident came to light when an employee of a nearby inter college saw smoke coming out of the building and informed the owner. The owner and the people nearby started efforts to extinguish the fire by using submersibles etc. and also informed the police and fire brigade. With the efforts of nine fire brigade vehicles, the fire could be controlled after about three hours. By then, all the goods including the bikes parked at the textile showroom and Hero Agency were burnt to ashes. The loss due to the fire is said to be around Rs 3-4 crore.
Official sources gave this information here on Sunday. He told that in the commercial building built by Sanjeev Agnihotri, a resident of Kasba Sahar, near Jagdish Chandra Inter College Gate on Bela-Dibiyapur Road, there is a clothes showroom by the name of Swastik Cloth House below and a motorcycle agency and workshop by the name of Swastik Hero Cop above. The building caught fire at around 8 am on Sunday morning due to a short circuit. A nearby school employee saw smoke coming from behind the building at 9 o’clock and informed the agency owner Sanjeev Agnihotri.
As soon as Sanjeev received the information, he quickly reached the showroom and somehow opened the shutter of the showroom and the strong flames of the fire inside started coming out. At the same time, glass panes started breaking and shattering with a loud noise. Apart from this, due to the petrol filled in the bike, loud explosions were heard. Before the agency owner and the people nearby could understand anything, the fire took a huge form. Today, the people of the neighborhood started trying to extinguish the fire and the fire brigade was informed from the spot, which after receiving the information, the first fire brigade arrived late by about an hour, due to which there was anger among the people. However, after some time, eight more fire tenders arrived from Auraiya, Tirwa (Kannauj) and Kanpur Dehat. With whose efforts the fire was brought under control after about three hours.
During this, due to the fierce fire in Swastik Cloth House and Swastik Hero Top Motorcycle Agency, the goods kept in both the showrooms were burnt to ashes. There was wholesale and retail trade of clothes. In which 20 bales of cloth were ordered on Saturday itself, which could not even be opened yet and were burnt to ashes. Together, it is estimated that more than two hundred bikes were burnt in the motorcycle agency.
