Major police action: 35 tonne iron rod tampering exposed

Raigarh. Raigarh. The Punjipathra police station took immediate action in the case of misappropriation of 35 tonnes of iron rods and arrested the accused truck driver and a local trader and recovered stolen goods worth about Rs 19 lakh. In this action taken under the direction of Superintendent of Police Divyang Kumar Patel, the police raided and caught the accused truck driver Vikas Singh and businessman Dindayal Gupta alias Batu in Shahdol, Madhya Pradesh, the businessman had bought a large part of the stolen iron rods in his warehouse. According to the information of the incident, on November 7, the reporter Deepak Bansal (age 27 years), resident of Sector 14 Hisar (Haryana) presently Raipur Coinature Home, filed an application in the Punjipathra police station and complained that on October 16, 2024, 35.1 tonnes of iron rods, worth about Rs 18.96 lakh, were sent from Raigarh Steel and Power Pvt. Ltd. Delari to Shubham Associates in Hisar, Haryana through transporter M.P. Chhattisgarh Transport. After loading the iron rods, truck driver Vikas Singh was sent to Haryana in truck number CG04 PP-5256, but when the goods did not reach the destination by November 6, the complainant tried to contact the truck driver and the transporter, but there was no response.

On this, a case of theft of 35.1 tonnes of iron rods was registered at Police Station Punjipathra under Crime No. 247/2024 Section 316 (3) BNS. Under the guidance of the Superintendent of Police, Inspector Rakesh Mishra’s team was instructed to take action and a police team led by ASI Jairam Sidar was sent to Shahdol. On November 8, the police team detained truck driver Vikas Singh, who told during interrogation that he had unloaded 15 tonnes of iron rods at the warehouse of businessman Dindayal Gupta alias Batu in Byahari of Shahdol district. On the memorandum of Vikas Singh and businessman Dindayal Gupta, the police seized a total of 35.1 tonnes of iron rods, which cost about Rs 18.96 lakh. Under the guidance of Superintendent of Police Divyang Kumar Patel and Additional SP Akash Markam, DSP Abhinav Upadhyay, Police Station In-charge Rakesh Mishra, ASI Jairam Sidar, Head Constable Lomesh Rajput, Constable Om Prakash Tiwari and Constable Vikas Pradhan of Cyber ​​Cell played an important role in the success achieved. The police team worked swiftly and ensured 100% recovery in the entire case and under the sections of breach of trust, the accused (1) Dindayal Gupta alias Batu father Motilal Gupta age 37 years resident of Byahari, Sukhataria, Hospital Road Police Station Byahari, District Shahdol, MP (2) Vikash Singh father Dhiresh Singh age 31 years resident of Amilki Police Station Govindgarh, District Rewa MP were duly arrested yesterday and sent on judicial remand.
