Major robbery in warehouse, 9 criminals arrested
Surajpur. Police have arrested 9 accused, including three minors, in the case of robbery by taking a security guard hostage in SECL warehouse in Vishrampur area, while one accused is said to be still absconding. The pickup vehicle and weapons used in the incident have also been seized from the accused. The value of the seized goods is said to be around Rs 2 lakh.
In fact, on December 16, about 10 people armed with weapons reached the SECL warehouse, took the guard there hostage and stole 20 kg of butts kept in the warehouse. After this, a complaint was lodged by SECL management at Vishrampur police station. On the basis of which the police registered a case against unknown accused and started investigation.
During the investigation, the police scanned the CCTV cameras. In which some accused were identified. When the police took those accused into custody and interrogated them, they confessed to their crime and on their information other accused were also arrested. The pickup vehicle and weapon used in the incident have also been seized from them. Three of the arrested accused are said to be minors, while one accused is still absconding. Police is busy searching for him. At present, a case of robbery has been registered against all the accused and sent to judicial custody.
