Man accused of cow slaughter dies in encounter with UP police
Rampur: A person allegedly involved in cow slaughter was killed while another was injured in a shootout with police in Rampur district, an official said on Sunday.
Rampur Superintendent of Police Rajesh Dwivedi said that while investigating a case of cow slaughter in Patwai police station area, the police got information that the accused would come to Moradabad in a vehicle late on Saturday night.
Patwai police set up a checkpoint and while checking cars, spotted a vehicle coming at a high speed from Moradabad. However, after seeing the checkpoint, the car turned and ran away as the police gave chase, the officer said.
