Man arrested for money-doubling fraud; had cheated a woman from Bhanupratappur.

Bhanupratappur. Bhanupratappur police have arrested an accused who defrauded people of Rs. 65,18,400 by luring them with the promise of doubling their money in a month and a half by investing in his own company. The accused was involved in the promotion and sale of organic fertilizers.
The victim, Kameshwari Nag, filed a report at the Bhanupratappur police station stating that the accused, Vinod Kumar Pandey, was involved in the promotion and sale of organic fertilizers. She had met the accused in 2023. The accused told her that she would double her money in a month and a half by investing in his WFT company, which he claimed to be running himself. He defrauded the victim and others of Rs. 65,18,400 by asking them to deposit money into his account while promising to add more people to the company.
Based on the victim’s report, a case was registered at the Bhanupratappur police station and an investigation was launched. Station House Officer Rameshwar Prasad Deshmukh formed a team and sent them to Bilaspur district to search for the accused. The accused was apprehended there and brought to the Bhanupratappur police station. During questioning, the accused confessed to the crime, after which he was sent to jail on judicial remand.
