Man charged after bodies of two people found in Sydney’s west
Sydney: A man will appear in court on Sunday after he was charged with the alleged murder of two people in Sydney’s west, police said. Police arrested the 31-year-old man at a house in the Sydney suburb of Canley Heights, about 30 kilometres west of the city’s central business district, at about 12:30pm on Sunday, news agency Xinhua quoted New South Wales Police as saying.
At about 9:40pm on Saturday, police were called to a shop on Oxford Street in the Sydney suburb of Cambridge Park, about 53 kilometres west of the city’s central business district, following reports of an assault, the statement said.
Police officers arrived at the scene and recovered the bodies of a 69-year-old man and a 68-year-old woman. The 31-year-old man was taken to Fairfield Police Station, where he was charged with two counts of murder and was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court on Sunday. According to the statement, police will allege in court that the three men knew each other. The Sydney Morning Herald identified the two victims as Hoa Teck Chim, 69, and Heng Kim Gau, 68, a married couple who ran Buzzy B Burger House in Cambridge Park. Officers arrested Alan Chim at his Canley Heights home shortly after midnight, the paper reported.
