Man kills self in AIIMS Bhubaneswar, daughter alleges mismanagement
Bhubaneswar: A patient has allegedly died in Bhubaneswar AIIMS Hospital. The body was found hanging from the ward of the orthopedic department.
According to reports, it has been alleged that he died by using a towel and hanging himself with it from the fan. The deceased is a 70-year-old man from Atalpur village in Jajpur.
He was admitted to AIIMS for treatment on December 5. It is suspected that the old man killed himself due to frustration. The police have seized the body and are investigating into the matter.
However it is worth mentioning here that, the deceased’s daughter raised questions about AIIMS patient management. The nursing staff were negligent in AIIMS hospital the daughter further alleged.
“My father lost his life due to staff negligence in AIIMS. The suicide could have been prevented if the hospital staff had been roaming around in the ward at night.”
However no comments have been available from AIIMS Bhubaneswar authorities. Further detailed reports awaited in this regard, an investigation in underway by the police and scientific team.
