Man lynched to death in drunken brawl in Delhi
New Delhi (IANS). A 55-year-old man died after being brutally thrashed during a drunken brawl in South Delhi’s Sarvapriya Vihar area. A police officer gave this information on Saturday.
The deceased has been identified as Loki Mandal, a resident of Balmiki Camp, Begumpur.
Malviya Nagar police station received a PCR call at 2.36 am about a fight between two people.
When a police team reached the spot at Gate No. 3, Sarvapriya Vihar, they were informed by the caller that a person has been shifted to AIIMS Trauma Center with the help of an ambulance and PCR van.
The police team immediately rushed to the AIIMS Trauma Center where an unidentified person was declared brought dead. On inquiry at the local level, the deceased was identified as Loki Mandal.
“The accused, identified as Rohit, a resident of Gurugram, was taken into custody. who revealed that they were both in a highly intoxicated state and started abusing each other, which led to a scuffle and he hit Loki on the head with a stone.
A case has been registered under IPC section 302 (murder), he said.
