Man who molested woman in moving train arrested
Thane: Dombivali Railway Police has arrested the accused, who molested a married woman in a local running between Dombivali and Ghatkopar, within 12 hours. The name of the arrested accused is Harishkumar Sudula (27), who is a resident of Vikhroli East.
According to GRP police, the victim lives with her husband and children in Ghatkopar area, while the accused Sudula lives in Tagore Nagar, Vikhroli East. The married victim had come to Dombivali from Ghatkopar with her husband and children to meet a relative. The accused had come to Dombivali for work.
On the evening of 23 October, the victim was traveling with her husband and children in the general coach of fast local going from Dombivali to Ghatkopar. At the same time Sudula was also traveling in the same general coach. The accused molested the victim while she was boarding the coach at Dombivali station. Then, taking advantage of the local crowd between Dombivali and Ghatkopar, Sudula again approached the victim and molested her.
When the local train reached Ghatkor station, Sudula again molested her while getting down from the coach and ran away. After this incident, the victim got scared and told her husband about the incident. The victim reached Dombivali GRP police station in the afternoon on October 24 and narrated the incident, the police registered a case against the accused under sections 354, 354 (A) of the IPC.
A police officer said that after registering the FIR in this case, Dombivali GRP police identified the accused on the basis of CCTV footage and arrested him from Vikhroli.
