Mancherial News: Engineering graduate from Nennal piques NRI’s interest

MANCHERIAL: In the narrow lanes of Nennal mandal centre, where her villagers and contemporaries are busy with farm work, a girl is busy preparing a variety of authentic snacks, pickles, sweets, powders, fryums, spices, millet products and instant mixes by employing 10 women workers in two rooms of her house for different tasks. Whenever possible, she taps on her mobile phone and responds to her customers from far and wide. Meet Chiluveru Sahithi, an engineering graduate who is garnering many attention for her success in entrepreneurial venture by receiving orders not only from several parts of Telangana but also from non-resident Indian (NRI) customers residing in the US, Canada, UK and Australia. She is delighting foodies across the globe by making 40 varieties of delicious snacks, 15 varieties of pickles, a variety of sweets, powders, fryums, spices, millet products and instant mixes and posting food videos on the Instagram page ‘Flavours of Telugu’. “I merged my passion for cooking with my dream of becoming an entrepreneur, leading to this business idea that enabled me to create employment opportunities for 10 other people directly and 10 indirectly. This venture is generating income equivalent to the salary of a software engineer with 15 years of experience,” Sahithi told Telangana Today. During the Covid-19 lockdown, 26-year-old Sahithi hit upon the idea of ​​entering the food business field. She used to post videos of dishes cooked by her mother on the popular photo and video sharing networking service.
The videos received a great response from NRIs and foodies on the site, inspiring Sahithi to enter her favourite field. The younger daughter of grocer Satyanarayana quit her job at TCS after working for four years and started a page on Instagram and started sharing videos of recipes on it in 2022. She dedicated herself completely to this venture in 2023. She shared that she is now accepting orders from foodies living in the US, Australia, Germany and some other countries, Hyderabad, Warangal and Karimnagar. The inspiring girl shared that she used to register one or two orders daily initially, but now she is getting around 30 to 40 orders daily, which shows the phenomenal growth of her business. “I am very happy and proud that I could help the society in some way and generate employment for others. I am able to achieve this from a small village with very limited resources, including poor public transport,” she said with a smile. She revealed that customers compare the taste and quality to the food prepared by their grandparents. She said that she aims to make Taste of Telugu a top brand and expand her services to Hyderabad soon. She said that consistency in offering quality is the key to her success.
