Maruti Suzuki India to invest in its second manufacturing facility in Gujarat
Gandhinagar: Suzuki Motor Corporation Chairman Toshihiro Suzuki on Wednesday said Maruti Suzuki India will invest Rs 35,000 crore to set up its second manufacturing facility in Gujarat. The company aims to increase the annual production capacity to more than 40 lakh units by 2030-31.
Speaking at the 10th edition of Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit (VGGS), Toshihiro said the installed production capacity of the plant will be 10 lakh units per annum.
“We will invest Rs 35,000 crore to build a second car plant in Gujarat, which will produce 10 lakh units every year,” Toshihiro said.
He said the new plant is expected to begin operations in fiscal year 2028-29. Details of its location and the models to be produced will be shared in due course.
