Massive fire in Puri in a shop, goods worth Rs.70,000 reduced to ashes

Puri: A massive fire in Puri has engulfed a shop completely and goods worth seventy thousand have been burnt down on Friday.

The terrible fire has occurred near the Alamchandi temple in Puri Kumbharpada police station jurisdiction. The fire could be contained only after an hour of continuous fire fighting operation.

Just 100 meters away from the place where the fire in the scrap shop took place, there is a house hospital and a temple and many other shops. While there was no damage to the medical center and shops, furniture worth Rs 70,000 was destroyed in the fire.

The firefighters are still at the scene of the massive fire in Puri and are investigating into the cause of the fire. It allegedly took place due to an electrical short circuit. The fire was so fierce that the entire are was covered in black smoke.
