Mayawati expressed displeasure over Bibek Debroy’s article, said – Central government should take action
Lucknow (IANS). National President of Bahujan Samaj Party Mayawati has targeted the article of Bibek Debroy, Chairman of the Economic Advisory Council.
He said that advocating a new constitution in the country is an open violation of his jurisdiction, which the central government should immediately take cognizance of and take action on.
He wrote on ‘X’ (first Twitter) – Debroy’s advocating a new constitution in his article is a clear violation of his jurisdiction, which the central government should take immediate cognizance of and take necessary action, so that no one can do such unrestrained things in the future. Couldn’t dare to
He said that the constitution of the country is the guarantee of its 140 crore poor, backward and neglected people being humanistic and egalitarian. It is not liked by selfish, narrow, casteist elements. They talk about turning it into anti-people and pro-Dhanna Seth, opposing which it is everyone’s responsibility.
It may be noted that Bibek Debroy, chairman of the Economic Advisory Council, wrote that our present constitution is largely based on the Government of India Act of 1935. In 2002, there was a report of the commission set up to review the working of the constitution, but it was a half-hearted effort. As with many other aspects of law reform, here and there other changes will not do.
The article further states that we should start with first principles as was the case in the Constituent Assembly debates. Which constitution does India need for 2047?
