Meat-laden truck burnt down by irate locals in Banki of Odisha

Banki: A truck loaded with meat was set on fire in Banki block of Cuttack district in Odisha on Saturday, said reliable reports.

The truck was coming from Athagarh towards Banki. After finding out that the truck was loaded with beef, the local residents stopped the truck and set it on fire near Baideswar police station.

Along with the driver, two traders were also detained. This was reported to the police. The police seized the truck and detained the driver and the two dealers in the police station.

Firefighters arrived at the spot and extinguished the fire. However, there is still tension at the scene, said reliable reports.
