Meerut news: Victims of car fire identified, 3 women among 4 dead
Meerut: Police on Monday (June 3) said they have identified four people, including three women, who died in a CNG car fire here a day earlier. Additional Superintendent of Police (Rural) Kamlesh Bahadur said four people travelling in a car from Delhi were burnt alive in the fire that broke out in Jani police station area around 9 pm on Sunday. He said the car was fitted with a CNG kit.
Senior Superintendent of Police Rohit Singh Sajwan on Monday said the deceased in the incident included Lalit (20), his mother Rajni (40), Radha (29) and Kavita (50). Sajwan said the victims were travelling from Ghaziabad to Haridwar. Prima facie, it appears that the car caught fire due to a fault in the CNG. He said a detailed investigation is being conducted into the matter.
