Mentally challenged woman assaulted
Nayagarh: In Nayagarh district of Odisha, distressing reports have emerged of a mentally challenged woman allegedly falling victim to a sexual assault. These disturbing events were brought to light through credible sources on Thursday.
According to the available information, the victim was sleeping in the corridor outside her home last night when an inebriated young man from the village, identified as Panda, purportedly sexually assaulted and inflicted stab wounds upon her. This horrific incident left the woman severely injured, prompting her family to rush her to Nayagarh District Headquarter Hospital (DHH) for medical attention.
Upon learning of the distressing situation, the Itamati police swiftly responded to the scene and the district headquarters. Concerned locals inquired about the incident from the injured woman, and she identified ‘Panda’ as the alleged perpetrator.
Panda is a local resident known to work as a driver in the village. According to community members, he is reportedly involved in the consumption of drugs like brown sugar and ganja on a regular basis. However, it remains unclear whether other individuals may have been complicit in this dreadful act.
