Mercedes-Benz EQE electric SUV launched in India

Mercedes-Benz India: Mercedes-Benz India has strengthened its electric vehicle (EV) portfolio with the launch of the all-new EQE SUV. Launched in late 2022, the Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV has arrived in India after almost nine months, and is priced at ₹1.39 crore (ex-showroom). It is the most expensive electric SUV from the German carmaker in our market, and falls above other luxury electric SUVs from BMW, JLR and Audi. It is available in a total of seven colors including (Black, Grey, Green, Silver, White, Blue and Brown) and deliveries of the EQE SUV will begin in the coming weeks.
With a length of 4,863 mm, the EQE SUV is longer than the GLC, but shorter than the GLE. Based on the carmaker’s Electric Vehicle Architecture 2 (EVA2), the EQE shares a lot with its sedan apart from its name, and its design and styling are also derived from the same sedan, which is not currently on sale in India. Is. The digital LED headlights are connected to an LED light strip, and the black panel in place of the grille includes a small three-pointed star. The EQE comes with 20-inch aero-customizable alloy wheels, and has full-width LED tail-lights.
Talking about the cabin, the EQE is set to woo potential buyers with its ‘Hyperscreen’ dash setup. A total of three screens are available here, this includes a 12.3-inch digital instrument display, a 17.7-inch central touchscreen infotainment system and a 12.3-inch front passenger entertainment screen. All three screens are located under a glass panel, and have a feature that includes car cameras to ensure that the front passenger can watch movies and other videos on the display while it is not distracting the driver. Through this, it detects whether the driver’s attention is on the screen or not, if it senses that the driver is looking at the screen for more than 3 seconds, then the car significantly reduces the brightness of the passenger screen. The EQE has seating for five and a 522-litre boot. Other features include 4-zone automatic climate control, panoramic sunroof and a 15-speaker, 710-watt Burmester 3D sound system.
The EQE SUV has a 90.6 kWh lithium-ion battery that uses more nickel and reduces the cobalt content by 10 percent. India gets the EQE 500 4MATIC variant, which has two permanent magnet motors (front and rear) that together produce 300 kW (402 bhp) of power and 858 Nm of peak torque. The EQE SUV will accelerate from 0-100 kmph in a claimed 4.9 seconds and comes with a top speed of 210 kmph. Mercedes says the EQE 500 4Matic will have a range of up to 550 kilometers (WLTP cycle).
