MHC refuses to stop Silambarasan TR from acting in films
Chennai: The Madras High Court has rejected the plea of Wells Film International Limited to restrain actor Silambarasan TR from acting in any other film without completing the film ‘Corona Kumar’.
Justice C Saravanan said that if the actor is prevented from acting in other films, it may cause difficulty in producing other films. Apart from this, the judge also appointed senior lawyer NL Raja as arbitrator to settle the case.
The actor’s lawyer also deposited a receipt of Rs 1 crore as security in compliance with the court order.
Film production company Wells Film International has filed a petition in the Madras High Court (MHC), seeking to restrain actor Silambarasan from acting in any other film without completing the film ‘Corona Kumar’ as promised.
The film production company also claimed that he had already been paid an advance of Rs 4.5 crore out of his total salary of Rs 9.5 crore in 2021 for acting in his film ‘Corona Kumar’. The court directed Silambarasan to furnish a bail amount of Rs 1 crore.
