Mineral-rich Odisha has no jobs for its people under BJD: Om Birla

Balasore: Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla said here on Wednesday that a massive change is awaited in Odisha as people are in favor of BJP to form the government.
Addressing a meeting on ‘Developed Odisha and Developed India’ in Balasore, Birla said once the double engine government is formed, there will be no obstacles in the way of development. He said that the people of Odisha will no longer tolerate the misgovernance of the Biju Janata Dal government and are ready to bring change.

The senior BJP leader said people have realized that they had a non-performing government for the last 25 years. Birla said, Odisha’s pride is a big issue as it is now in danger.
Highlighting the development in the country in the last 10 years of the Modi government at the Centre, he said terrorism and regional disputes have declined and India is now a peaceful country. “Although some countries have seen economic growth, their internal and external conflicts are still not over. Compared to that, India is in a better position,” he said.

He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Indian economy has grown from the 11th position to the 5th largest economy in the world. All-round development has strengthened India’s image on the global stage.
Launching a strong attack on the BJD government, Birla said that despite Odisha being one of the mineral-rich states in the country, there are not enough employment opportunities for the people here, which is why they have to go out of the state for livelihood. I am forced to do so.

Pointing to the development of national highways, Birla said that only after BJP came to power, it accelerated development in various sectors. He said that Odisha will also see development after voting the saffron party to power in the state. “The political environment in Odisha shows that BJP will win to form a double engine government,” Birla said.
Among others, BJP’s Balasore Lok Sabha seat candidate Pratap Chandra Sarangi, Remuna BJP candidate Gobind Chandra Das and Balasore Sadar constituency BJP candidate Manas Kumar Dutta also spoke.
