Mining is being done in Yamuna river disregarding the rules
Radaur. These days, mining is being done in violation of the rules in Gumthala and Jathlana areas adjacent to Yamuna river of Radaur. Voices are being raised continuously to stop mining taking place against the rules. But the administration is still silent. Mining is going on in full swing in Gumthala and Jathlana in the dark of night. Which is completely contrary to the rules and regulations.
State President of Haryana Anti Corruption Society, Waryam Singh has to say that according to the rules, illegal mining cannot be done at night but in Jathlana and Gumthala areas, the mining agency is carrying out mining work indiscriminately, ignoring the rules. Waryam Singh alleges that the natural flow of Yamuna is being affected through illegal mining, which is causing huge damage to the environment. In such a situation, he has demanded from the Haryana Government to take action against the mining agencies for mining going on contrary to the rules.
Mining officer Om Dutt Sharma says that no illegal mining is taking place in Gumthala and Jathlana. For this, he has inspected the spot several times. He also clarified that Yamunanagar Mining Department is short of employees. For this, he has also written a letter to Haryana State Mountain on October 18 and it has been written in the letter that mining takes place at many places in Yamunanagar. He has also sought the help of many departments to stop illegal mining.
