Minor branded with hot iron by father for not attending school in Angul

Angul: A 12-year-boy was branded with hot iron rod by his father for not attending school at Hatianali village under Chendipada police limits of Angul district. The minor boy is said to be critical.

According to reports, the minor was tortured by his own father Subash Pradhanafter being instigated by his stepmother for not going to school, he was branded with hot iron rod on his two legs and both the hands.

The incident took place some months ago and the minor had been critically ill. The locals came to know about this incident and informed the Childline helpline.

The childline with the help of the police reached and rescued the minor and have detained the father and mother of the child for further questioning.
