Minor gang-raped in Kerala, six including lover arrested

Thiruvananthapuram (IANS). The Kerala Police on Sunday arrested six people for the gang rape of a 17-year-old girl. Police said that in December 2022, the minor was gang-raped at Adoor in Pathanamthitta district of Kerala. According to the police, the girl used to remain silent most of the time at home. When her parents asked her the reason for her silence, she did not give a clear answer.

The school authorities later took the help of Childline and during counseling it was revealed that she had been raped by six persons on different dates.

The police registered a case on July 6 after getting information from Childline. The girl was seduced and raped by her lover. After this the lover also asked the girl to meet his friends. The girl was gang-raped by her friends. Police said that all the six accused, including the lover, are in police custody.

Adoor police sources told IANS that the accused have been detained and are being interrogated.
