MMC approves 20 bedded PHC in Mormugao
Vasco: After a proposal was submitted by the Directorate of Health Services (DHS), the Mormugao Municipal Council (MMC) on Monday unanimously resolved to set up a full-fledged 20-bed Primary Health Center (PHC) in the Mormugao constituency.
Mormugao MLA Sankalp Amonkar had written to the council requesting it to issue NOC to DHS for setting up the center on government land in Headland-Sada.
In the special meeting of the council on Monday, the councilors resolved to issue the certificate. Earlier the council had resolved to set up a petrol pump on government land to help the MMC generate revenue.
Another major decision of the council included bringing all municipal employees and daily wage workers under life insurance cover. The Council has resolved to purchase 161 vehicle tires from GHRSSIDC under a grant from the 15th Finance Commission.
