Rajnandgaon. The counting of votes for the Assembly Elections 2023 will be done on December 3, 2023 from 8 am at the counting center located at Chhattisgarh State Warehousing Corporation Basantpur Campus, Rajnandgaon. 14-14 tables will be set up for each assembly and the votes recorded in EVMs will be counted. 2 tables each for each assembly, a total of 8 tables will be set up for counting of postal ballots. The strong room will be opened at 7 am in the presence of the General Observer, Returning Officer, candidate, election agent. Counting of votes will start from 8 am.
Under the guidance of Collector Doman Singh, training is being provided to the officers and employees engaged in counting of votes. The Collector has instructed all the officers to make necessary arrangements. First of all, counting of postal ballot and ETBPS will be done. After half an hour, the votes recorded in EVMs will be counted. One counting observer, one counting assistant and one microobserver have been appointed at each table. There will be a media center and announcer room for media representatives in the counting venue. The training of officers and employees will be held in three shifts on 28 November 2023. Rehearsal will be held on December 2, 2023 at the counting venue from 11 am.
Deputy District Election Officer Khemlal Verma said that 384 officers and employees have been deployed for the counting of votes. The duty of servants has been imposed to bring and carry EVMs. 72 employees have been assigned the duty of bringing and carrying EVMs. It is noteworthy that no one except the Returning Officer and the Observer will be allowed to carry mobile phones in the counting hall. Election agents will not be allowed to roam in the hall. Only one person or candidate or agent should be present at the table in place of the candidate. Policemen will be deployed at the gate of the counting hall. No person can enter or exit the hall without the permission of the Returning Officer. Tight security arrangements have been made at the counting centre.
