Mock drill for Pravasi Bharatiya Divas 2025 conducted in Bhubaneswar today
Bhubaneswar: The countdown for Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD) convention has begun. For the first time Bhubaneswar gears up to host the 18th edition of the PBD convention. Ahead of the convention a mock drill was conducted today at the Janata Maidan in Bhubaneswar.
Urban WarFare conducted the mock drill for the PBD convention to counter the terrorist attack. SOG, SPG, ODRAF and Fire Brigade and K9 squad took part in the mock drill. The DGP Yogesh Bahadur Khurania took on himself to monitor the security arrangements. Police Commissioner, Bhubaneswar DGP, addition police commissioner also joined the mock drill.
Police will be managing the security around the Janata Maidan. Recently a threatening video e-mail from Khalistani terrorist Pannun was issued. Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja was present during the mock drill. Delegates from all over the world will attend the PBD convention. Odisha government had brought in double decker buses for the Pravasi Bharatiyas.
80 platoons of police force and 10 companies of security personnel have been deployed for the security in the city. As many as 650 senior police officers will keep an eye on the security. Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) has been also assigned the security surveillance in the city. Bhubaneswar will be under CCTV surveillance from January 8 to 10.
