Model code of conduct effective, political banners, posters and flex installed in corporation area were removed
Bhilai: As soon as the Model Code of Conduct came into force in the entire state with the announcement of assembly election dates by the Central Election Commission in the state of Chhattisgarh, the corporation’s team went around and removed the banners, posters, flexes of political parties installed in the Municipal Corporation Bhilai area as per the property details rules. While taking the seizure action, the wall writing was erased.
Commissioner Rohit Vyas instructed Additional Commissioner Ashok Dwivedi to strictly enforce the property defacement rule as soon as the Model Code of Conduct comes into force. He immediately sent all the Zone Commissioners, Assistant Revenue Officers, Zone Health Officers and the demolition squad of the corporation to all areas of the city. Asked to remove photographs of public representatives and banners, posters, holdings, flex and wall writings of political parties. The corporation team seized banners, posters, flex installed in the entire corporation area including both sides of G.E. Road, Power House, Supela, Laxminagar, Nehru Nagar, Avanti Bai Chowk, Khursipar, Kemp area, Kohka Kurud, Township area Hudko. And the wall writing was erased with ochre. The posters with photos of public representatives in the government scheme put up in all the offices of the corporation were removed.
Commissioner Rohit Vyas has said that the model code of conduct has become effective in the corporation area. Putting up banners, posters, flex and wall writing, procession, rally has been banned in the entire corporation area without permission. He has written to the zone commissioner and revenue team of the corporation. It is said that the property defacement rule should be kept effective by visiting the area daily.
