Modi surname defamation case: Supreme Court to hear Rahul Gandhi’s plea on July 21


New Delhi: Hearing will be held in the Supreme Court on July 21 in the matter of punishment to Rahul Gandhi in the defamation case. Rahul Gandhi has demanded a stay on the punishment. Rahul Gandhi has filed a petition in the Supreme Court challenging the Gujarat High Court order in the ‘Modi surname’ defamation case. Which has been accepted by the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court has listed the matter for hearing on July 21. Rahul Gandhi had earlier moved the High Court against the decision of a Gujarat court. However, the High Court continued the criminal defamation case against Rahul Gandhi in the Modi surname case and Rahul Gandhi appealed to stay the conviction and two-year jail sentence in the case.
