Mohit Raina will be seen in ‘The Freelancer’, based on Shirish Thorat’s book ‘A Ticket to Syria’
Mumbai (IANS). Actor Mohit Raina, best known for his work in ‘Devon Ke Dev – Mahadev’, ‘Uri – The Surgical Strike’, ‘Good Newwz’, is all set to be a part of the upcoming streaming series ‘The Freelancer’. It also stars veteran actor Anupam Kher.
The series is based on the book ‘A Ticket to Syria’ by author Shirish Thorat, and is created by Neeraj Pandey, who also serves as the showrunner.
The series follows the rescue operation of a young girl forcibly held in war-torn Syria.
The book attempts to share the story about the deadly operations of the Islamic State. It was also told how the terrorist group carried out a cross-country operation.
Neeraj is known for films like ‘A Wednesday’, ‘Special 26’, ‘Baby’, ‘MS Dhoni: The Untold Story’ and others. The show is directed by Bhav Dhulia.
Along with Mohit, the series also stars Sushant Singh, Kashmera Pardeshi, John Kokken, Gauri Balaji and Navneet Malik.
Neeraj Pandey said, “‘The Freelancer’ is a high-scale thriller series that follows the rescue operation of a young girl forcibly taken to war-torn Syria. It is based on Shirish Thorat’s book ‘A Ticket to Syria’ , which tells the true story of Alia.”
He further mentioned that the series boasts of an excellent cast including Mohit Raina playing the lead role, Anupam playing the role of analyst Dr. Khan, Kashmera playing the role of Alia and other actors playing unique characters.
Neeraj said, “The series has been shot in multiple locations internationally and it recreates a world that is largely unknown and unseen. Bhav Dhulia and the entire Friday Storytellers team have come together to bring this together. A lot of hard work has been put in, and I hope the audience likes it.”
Produced by Friday Storytellers, the series ‘The Freelancer’ will soon stream on Disney Plus Hotstar.
