More planting behind paddy and sugarcane than last year

Kharif planting: While the kharif planting season will officially end at the end of September, monsoon planting has been done in 10.95 crore hectares in the country so far. Which shows an increase of 3 percent compared to 10.92 crore hectares in the same period last season. The increase in paddy and sugarcane cultivation is responsible for the increase in kharif cultivation. Paddy cultivation has been recorded in 4.09 crore hectares, an increase of 7.6 percent compared to the previous season. Which was seen in 3.99 crore hectares in the same period of the last season.
According to the data of the Central Agriculture Department, till last Friday, plantation had been completed in 10.95 crore hectares in the country. In which there is an annual decline in the cultivation of crops like pulses, oilseeds and cotton. Whereas an increase of 1.64 percent has been observed in the cultivation of coarse grains. States like Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Haryana are responsible for the increase in area under paddy crop. Whereas a decline in Kharif paddy cultivation is being seen in Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Odisha and Tamil Nadu.
This year, cultivation of pulses has been possible in 1.21 crore hectares. Which was seen in 1.28 crore hectares last season. As far as coarse grains are concerned, cultivation has been done in 1.82 crore hectares. Which was possible in 1.81 crore hectares last season. As far as oilseeds are concerned, its cultivation has been recorded in 1.92 crore hectares. Which was seen in 1.94 crore hectares last season. Whereas this year cotton cultivation has been seen in 1.23 crore hectares as compared to 1.27 crore hectares in the last season. In the current season, sugarcane has been sown in 59.91 lakh hectares whereas in the last season it was sown in 55.56 lakh hectares.
