Mumbai: BCA reacts to the controversial start of Bihar’s Ranji Trophy.

New Delhi: Bihar Cricket Association (BCA) was thrown into a dilemma after suspended former secretary Amit Kumar announced his squad for the Ranji Trophy match against Mumbai.

Two teams from Bihar appeared at the Moin-ul-Haq Stadium in Patna for the inaugural Ranji Trophy match against hosts Mumbai on Friday.
But the BCA team, which was named as the “official” team, took the field against the visitors, which saw Mumbai collapse to 235/9 on the opening day.

According to ESPNcricinfo, Amit had allegedly attacked the officer outside the venue.
Bihar Cricket Association district representative Om Prakash Jaiswal spoke about the incident and told ANI, “BCCI had given permission to the original Bihar team to play. This incident happened, it was outside the stadium. A fake team was formed by previous secretary Amit Kumar.” , And they tried to create problems but our security stopped everything. And the original team of Bihar is playing the match with Mumbai.”

BCA CEO Manish Raj talked about the mismanagement due to lack of facilities to accommodate large gatherings and told ANI, “The stadium ground is perfect and that is why elite group matches are being held here.
As far as its outer part is concerned, it has already been destroyed. About the ground I can say that it is a very good ground. Even the match referee appreciated it. BCCI has enabled us to build our own stadium. We are already looking for land, if the land work is completed then you will get to see BCA’s own stadium. “We have done what we could with limited resources.”

“People tried to create controversy. Now the real team is playing in front of you, Bihar has performed well. Taking 9 wickets on the very first day against a team like Mumbai is a historic moment for Bihar. Bihar has been in trouble for many years.” Participated in the elite group.

And that too against champion Mumbai, which has been a winner for many years. It is shocking that someone else is claiming to be the secretary, whereas we already have the original secretary.”

According to ESPNcricinfo, Amit’s relationship with the BCA president came under strain after he was allegedly found involved with a rival group in 2022. Ultimately, Amit was suspended from the post of Secretary and has not held any post in BCA since then.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi made his debut for the host team at the age of 12 in the opening match between Bihar and Mumbai.
According to the BCA, “Vaibhav becomes the youngest Indian player to make his first-class debut since 1986.” Overall, he is the fourth youngest player to make his first-class cricket debut in the country.

Talking about this young player, Manish said, “Looking at his performance, BCCI has already selected him for the India B team. Everyone’s eyes are on him. His future is bright.”
