Mumbai: Security Guard Stabbed by Wife’s Alleged Lover in Bhandup
Maharashtra: In Bhandup, a 46-year-old security guard was brutally stabbed and critically injured. The incident occurred when he caught his wife at the home of her alleged lover. The Bhandup police have arrested the accused, identified as Sachin Vasant Gharge, who has been charged with attempted murder.
Background: A Family Dispute
According to the FIR, the victim resides with his family on Gavdevi Road in the Tembhipada area of Bhandup (West). The root of this altercation lies in a long-standing family dispute involving the victim’s 38-year-old wife. She had previously been arrested by the Bhandup police on charges of stealing gold jewelry belonging to her mother-in-law.
After being released from jail, the wife began living in a rented apartment within the same locality. During this period, the victim discovered that his wife was having an illicit affair with Sachin Gharge. Although the victim confronted his wife regarding these allegations, she consistently denied them.
The situation escalated on the night of March 16. The wife had visited the victim’s home around 10:00 PM. However, when the victim woke up around 1:00 AM, he noticed that his wife was missing from the house.
Suspecting that his wife might be with Gharge, the victim went to the accused’s residence and knocked on the door. When he received no response, he kicked the door open and forced his way inside. Upon entering, he found his wife inside Gharge’s home.
Accused Attacks Victim with a Knife
A heated argument ensued between the two men, during which Gharge allegedly verbally abused the victim and ordered him to leave the premises. As the victim was making his way out, Gharge attacked him from behind with a knife, inflicting life-threatening injuries.
Alerted by the victim’s screams, neighbors rushed to the scene. A friend of the victim informed the police, and the victim was immediately rushed to Mulund General Hospital. Victim Transferred for Advanced Treatment
Given the severity of the injuries, doctors at Mulund General Hospital administered first aid to the victim and subsequently transferred him to KEM Hospital for advanced treatment. He is currently undergoing treatment and remains under medical observation. The Bhandup Police have registered a case of attempted murder against Sachin Gharge under the relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and are conducting further investigations into the matter.
