Mumbai: Seven people injured in a cylinder blast in Malwani chawl.

Maharashtra: A cylinder blast in a chawl (tenement) in Malwani, Malad, on Tuesday morning resulted in a fire, injuring seven people. BMC disaster management officials said, “The incident occurred in a chawl located near AC Masjid, next to Bharat Mata School, at Gate Number 8, Malwani, Malad West. The cylinder exploded due to a gas leak.” The victims include three women and a two-year-old child.
The fire was quickly brought under control.
Officials said, “The incident was reported to the Mumbai Fire Brigade (MFB) at 9:25 am, and the fire was extinguished by 9:42 am. However, the victims sustained serious injuries due to the cylinder blast. A total of seven people were injured, of whom four were sent to Adhar Hospital and three were shifted from Care Hospital to BDBA Hospital. By Tuesday night, all the injured had been transferred to KEM Hospital.”
