Murderer sentenced to life imprisonment, fine of 2 thousand also
sakti: First Additional Sessions Judge BR Sahu has sentenced the accused, who attacked and killed a young man working in the fields with a shovel, to life imprisonment and a fine of Rs 2,000. Additional Public Prosecutor Durga Prasad Sahu said that the incident took place at 7.30 am on May 19, 20 when Neelkanth Bharti had gone to spread soil in the field near the bore pump located on the side of village Nagjhar Road. At the same time, Happy Night reached there and robbed Neelkanth of his shovel and hit him on the head with the same shovel, due to which he fell on the roadside. Accused Happy Ratre himself informed about the incident by calling Neelkanth’s son Vijay Kumar Bharti. When they reached the spot, Neelkanth was found lying on the spot in a critical condition.
When Vijay and his mother asked about the incident, Neelkanth told that Happy Night had hit him on the head. Neelkanth was admitted to Raigarh hospital for treatment, where his head was operated on. But his condition did not improve so the doctor asked him to be taken home. While bringing him home, he died on the way on June 17. Based on the report of Vijay Bharti, the police registered a case of murder against Happy Ratre and after investigation, presented the diary in the court. After the hearing, Judge BR Sahu has given the verdict.
