Murli Sharma’s Entry: Joins the Star Cast of ‘Operation Tral’
Chennai: Malayalam actor Jayasurya plays the lead role in director Ratheesh Vega’s highly anticipated pan-Indian action thriller, ‘Operation Tral’. The makers have now announced that acclaimed character actor Murali Sharma is also part of the film’s cast.
The announcement was made on Murali Sharma’s birthday. Sources from the film unit state that the actor—renowned for his memorable performances in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam cinema—will be seen playing a pivotal role in the movie.
Written and directed by Ratheesh Vega, ‘Operation Tral’ is being produced by Joby George Thadathil under the banner of Goodwill Entertainments.
Mounted on a grand scale, ‘Operation Tral’ is an investigative thriller set against the backdrop of national intelligence operations. Inspired by a specific encounter between the Indian Armed Forces and terrorists in Tral, Jammu & Kashmir, the film blends action, intelligence operations, and a compelling patriotic narrative.
The film has been shot across various locations, including Kerala, Coimbatore, New Delhi, Kullu, Manali, Mussoorie, and Ladakh. Produced by Joby George Thadathil under the Goodwill Entertainments banner, the film is gearing up for a worldwide release in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi.
It is worth recalling that actor Jayasurya had previously stated in an interview, “‘Operation Tral’ is one of the most exciting and challenging projects of my career. It combines high-octane action with a powerful story centered on national security. Every scene has been crafted to feel authentic, and I am excited for the audience to experience its grand scale. The film conveys a strong message, and I hope it resonates with audiences across the country.” Director Ratheesh Vega said, “In a world where terror wears many faces, I wanted to showcase the silent battles fought behind the scenes by those who protect our nation without seeking recognition. This film is a humble attempt to step into the unseen world of intelligence agencies and highlight the quiet strength of individuals who often shoulder the burden of the nation while remaining in the shadows.”
The film is being co-produced by Sunimol Joby, with cinematography by Njos. Interestingly, Ratheesh Vega is also composing the music and original score for the film.
Noble Jacob is handling the project design, while Shafeeq V.B. is in charge of editing. M.R. Radhakrishnan is responsible for sound mixing, with Sajish Thamarassery handling production design and Sunish Sodharan managing art direction.
Sameera Saneesh and Saritha Jayasurya are jointly handling costume design, while Ronex Xavier is in charge of makeup.
