Nagapattinam aided school students write postcard to CM with their demands
Chennai: In an innovative way to attract the attention of Chief Minister MK Stalin, students of Chidambaranar Aided Middle School in Orathur, Nagapattinam had written a set of their requests in postcards to Chief Minister MK Stalin.
The requests made to the Chief Minister have highlighted several concerns affecting their education and welfare.
Some of the primary issues raised include denial of CM breakfast scheme to students in aided schools and limited opportunities for admission to higher education and medical colleges.
Drawing attention towards their needs, students adopted this innovative initiative during lunch break.
They wrote their needs on postcards and dropped them in the nearest post box, addressed to the CM office.
In the postcard the students stressed the urgency of their demands, especially regarding the breakfast scheme.
“This is an important step where students are raising their voice and it is important that this is also encouraged,” said a teacher from an aided school.
The teacher further said that he urged the students to continue their efforts and assured them that their requests will be presented to the CM.
Apart from the implementation of the breakfast scheme the students have some requests; Requesting to implement reservation in engineering and medical admissions and to implement the Puthumai Pen Scheme, where girl students between classes 6 to 12 will get Rs 1,000 per month.
And, in collective hope, the students hope that the Chief Minister will work with the concerned departments to accept their grievances and take concrete steps to provide necessary facilities.
