Nashik: A technical advisory committee has been formed to beautify the city before the Kumbh Mela 2027.

Maharashtra: As preparations for the Nashik-Trimbakeshwar Simhastha Kumbh Mela 2027 enter a crucial planning phase, the Nashik Trimbakeshwar Kumbh Mela Authority (NTKMA) has formed a Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) for city beautification. This committee will ensure that all urban design and aesthetic interventions are planned in a structured, sensitive, and expert-led manner. This committee has been formed to guide the large-scale beautification works proposed in Nashik and Trimbakeshwar, which are expected to receive a large influx of pilgrims during the Simhastha Kumbh Mela.
The Technical Advisory Committee will serve as an expert advisory and mentorship body for the NTKMA and its consultants, providing technical guidance and critical review at all stages of city beautification works, including concept, design, planning, tendering, and implementation.
This committee brings together experts from diverse fields such as environmental landscape planning, cultural and heritage studies, conservation architecture, urban design, and art to ensure that beautification work remains aligned with Nashik’s ecological sensitivity, cultural identity, and historical heritage.
The committee’s work includes specific public-facing and high-footfall areas associated with the Kumbh Mela, including the rejuvenation and strengthening of ghats and riverfront stretches along the Godavari, improving key approach roads from railway stations and bus terminals, developing key junctions as urban landmarks, and enhancing the aesthetics of flyovers and bridges.
