Nashik: Amid ticket revolt, BJP loyalists offer carrots to city president

Maharashtra: The BJP lured loyal party workers with candidature in the Nashik Municipal Corporation elections, but many are angry at being left out. Workers staged a unique protest on Nashik Road on Thursday, presenting carrots to City President Sunil Kedar and Mandal President Shantaram Ghanta and raising slogans against the “carrot-wielding Janata Party.”
184 people had sought BJP candidature for 23 seats across six wards in Nashik Road city. Former Republican Party of India (RPI) councillors Sanjay Bhalerao, Amol Pagare, and Sameer Shaikh expressed their anger over the non-fulfillment of the promise of two seats for the RPI.
