National brainstorming on sports and youth affairs: Chhattisgarh’s Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Tankaram Verma participated
Raipur. Raipur. The National “Chintan Shivir” of Sports Ministers of States and Union Territories across the country regarding Sports and Youth Affairs is being organized on 7th and 8th March 2025 at Kanha Shanti Vanam, Hyderabad. Union Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, Sports Ministers of various states, sports experts and other prominent representatives attended the two-day brainstorming session organized under the aegis of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports (MYAS).
Representing Chhattisgarh, Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Tankaram Verma played an active role in the Chintan Shivir. On this occasion, he specially requested the Union Sports Minister to provide financial assistance from the Central Government for Laxmibai Sports Institute and Bastar Olympics of Chhattisgarh. Tankaram Verma said that this Chintan Shivir will prove to be an important platform to open the doors of new policies, resources and possibilities for the development of sports in the state. The state government is committed to establish Chhattisgarh as an emerging sports hub through Khelo India and other schemes. This Chintan Shivir will prove to be an important initiative to make the sports policy more rich and effective at the national level.
In-depth review on Khelo India and the role of states
The “Khelo India Scheme” was reviewed in detail in the Chintan Shivir. During the discussion, special emphasis was laid on strengthening effective coordination between Khelo India and the states. In the camp, there was also a detailed discussion on improving sports infrastructure and encouraging private sector participation in it. In the camp, a presentation was made on the successful efforts of the state regarding identification of sports talent and their training. In the camp, it was told that the states have made a significant contribution in enhancing sports talent and making them competitive at the international level through their excellent strategies. In the last session of the Chintan Shivir, there was an in-depth discussion on the National Sports Repository System (NSRS). In the Chintan Shivir, there was a detailed discussion towards increasing the efficiency of sports organizations and making sports policies more effective.
