National Road Safety Short Film Festival Chhattisgarh-2023: Last Date for Registration and Film Entry Extended

Raipur. The ‘National Road Safety Short Film Festival Chhattisgarh-2023’ has extended its registration deadline to August 10, 2023, and its film entry deadline to August 12, 2023. The decision came after requests from filmmakers and eminent citizens for greater participation in the road safety public awareness initiative.

As of now, 64 participants from various Indian states, such as Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra, Bihar, Punjab, Assam, Rajasthan, West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh, Haryana, Jharkhand, Delhi, and Odisha, have registered for this significant event. Rules and regulations for the participants:

The National Road Safety Short Film Festival, to be held in Chhattisgarh, invites entries in various categories, such as documentary, experimental, narrative, fiction, non-fiction, or animation, all centred around road safety. The films should be of the highest quality, with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 or above. Participants must register at https://forms.gle/6fixo79kCbuzbydh8 before submitting their films. Notably, there is no entry fee, and the organising team strictly refrains from seeking any form of payment. Eligibility requires participants to be 18 years of age or older, and each participant can submit up to three entries. The maximum duration for films, including credits, is 140 seconds (2 minutes 20 second).

The upcoming ‘National Road Safety Short Film Festival Chhattisgarh-2023’ is now open for submissions. Films can be submitted in two categories: Chhattisgarhi language (including Chhattisgarhi, Godi, Dhurva, Bhatri, Dorli, Sambalpuri, Kuduk, Sadri, Baigani, Kamari, Auriya, Sargujia, Dantewada Godi, etc.) and Other Indian languages with mandatory Hindi subtitles. Participants are required to ensure their short films are original creations and do not violate any copyright or third-party rights. Obtaining necessary permissions for music, sound, and images featured in the films is also mandatory. Participants promoting social discrimination or containing explicit or adult content will be disqualified from the festival. Aspiring filmmakers can participate and showcase their talent for raising road safety awareness through these meaningful short films.

Chhattisgarh Police and the Inter-Departmental Lead Agency (Road Safety) Chhattisgarh have been granted the right to utilise the entries (selected or nominated films) and their content for promotional purposes during the Festival. Additionally, copies of each film will be preserved in the festival library. Irrespective of rewards, all entries may be used by the Chhattisgarh Police and associated agencies for road safety awareness without any commercial intent. Once selected and submitted for final screening, films cannot be withdrawn until the festival concludes.

Aspiring filmmakers participating in the National Road Safety Short Film Festival in Chhattisgarh are required to attach a digital poster (Social Media Creative) along with their film entry. It’s important to note that the submitted material will not be returned to the applicants. To be eligible for consideration, films must be submitted before the specified deadline, as late submissions will not be accepted under any circumstances. Participants are also advised that the festival’s authorities will not be held responsible for any damages incurred during the submission process.

Furthermore, admission forms with incorrect, insufficient, vague, or incomplete details will not be considered for selection. The Festival Committee holds the right to accept or reject any film without providing a reason. Once a film is submitted for selection, it will be treated as final, and no changes will be entertained thereafter. The jury’s evaluation will be deemed final in determining the winners (1st, 2nd, and 3rd). Contestants are not allowed to appeal against the jury’s decision.

During the main event, at least one member from each participating team is required to be present. The submitted short films must be the original creation of the filmmakers and must not violate any copyright or third-party rights. Participants must ensure they have obtained all necessary permissions for the music, sound, and images featured in their films. At the time of submission, participants must sign and attach a self-declaration letter (provided by the organizing committee) affirming the originality of the content. By entering the Festival, participants acknowledge that the National Road Safety Short Film Festival of Chhattisgarh will not be held responsible for any copyright infringement committed by them or their short film.

The ‘National Road Safety Short Film Festival Chhattisgarh- 2023’ has announced that they may reject any film deemed inappropriate. Filmmakers participating in the festival could face prosecution for any violations under Indian law. The festival strictly prohibits the portrayal of racial, religious, and regional discrimination in submitted films. Any legal matters arising from the festival will be under the jurisdiction of the District Court of Raipur, Chhattisgarh.

Unauthorised use of the “National Road Safety Short Film Festival Chhattisgarh-2023” name and logo is strictly prohibited. The festival’s authority has the right to take any legal action against individuals, institutions, or organisations found using them without permission for any purpose, commercial or non-commercial. The organising committee warns of the consequences of any such misuse.
