Naxalites shot former sarpanch
Balaghat. On Thursday night, Naxalites shot dead a former sarpanch in village Bhakku Tola under Lanji police station in Balaghat district of MP. Naxalites have committed the above incident on the suspicion of informer. There is panic in the area due to Naxalite incidents during the code of conduct.
Let us tell you that the Naxalites first searched the house of the Deputy Sarpanch, then took him outside and shot him. The wife of deceased former sarpanch Shankarlal Pandre told that four armed Naxalites came to their house at around ten o’clock on Thursday night. A female Naxalite was also involved in this. After knocking the door, they asked her husband to come out by name. When they went out, they started asking for the mobile phone from their husband. When told that there was no mobile, they searched the house. After this they left with their husband. About an hour later, the sound of firing was heard near the school square. The Naxalites had killed her husband by shooting him in the mouth.
Balaghat Superintendent of Police Saurabh Suman confirmed the incident and said that Naxalites killed former sarpanch Shankarlal Pandre (60) in suspicion of being an informer. The former sarpanch was not a police informer. Police also found pamphlets at the incident site. In this, while mentioning about staying away from the police and not informing, it has been said that if there is any whistleblowing in a village, then along with the punishment for whistleblowing, that person and the public representatives of the Panchayat will also have to face the same punishment.
He said that a case has been registered and the body has been sent for post-mortem. An intensive search operation has been started in the area in search of Naxalites. Additional forces were sought for the elections. 70 to 80 companies of paramilitary force will be deployed in Balaghat district during the elections. So that the process of fair elections can be conducted in a peaceful manner.
