New feature on WhatsApp, group members will be able to complain if they receive wrong messages
New Delhi: WhatsApp is releasing new features to make its platform even better. According to a report, WhatsApp is now preparing to introduce a new feature, which aims to enhance group chat management. WaBetaInfo, a website that tracks new features of WhatsApp, said in its report that WhatsApp is currently testing the “Admin Review” feature. How will the new feature work, let’s tell everything in detail…
WaBetaInfo reported in its report that, with this feature, WhatsApp is providing group admins with an additional tool to better manage the group in case they are not available. The new feature is available on the Google Play Store with the Android 2.23.16.18 update for WhatsApp beta, WhatsApp is currently rolling out the feature to a select group of beta testers!
As you can see in the screenshot above, group admins can experiment with a new option within the group settings screen. After enabling this option, everyone in the group will have the ability to report messages shared in the chat to the group admin. Once a message is reported, the group admin will have the option to delete the message for everyone or take appropriate action depending on the nature of the reported content (for example, block the sender remove from group).
If seen, the new feature will help in maintaining a safe and respectful environment during group conversations. With the ability to review messages sent by other group members, it can be helpful for group admins to keep an eye on the group even when they are not around. Messages that need review will be listed in a new section found in the group info screen, and anyone in a chat can easily send a message to an admin for review by simply opening the message option.
Meanwhile, WhatsApp is working on another feature that can help users verify their accounts easily. The instant messaging app is reportedly working on a feature that will allow users to use their email address as an alternate login method.
