New govt rules complicate DL, librarian, and physical director recruitment

The new rules brought by the government for filling up the vacant posts of Assistant Professor (DL), Librarian and Physical Direct in government degree colleges in the state have become a headache and a hassle for the candidates preparing for DL posts, said Kondrapalli Srinu, President of Gurukula Teachers’ Rights United Forum. It is known that the state government has finalized new rules for filling up the vacant posts of Assistant Professor (DL), Librarian and Physical Director (PD) in government degree colleges in the state. According to this, the selection process has been divided into three parts. The candidates’ merit will be selected based on 100 marks. However, earlier, only the written test had 100 percent marks. However, this time it has been changed. 50 percent weightage has been allocated to the academic score, 40 percent weightage to the written test conducted to test subject proficiency, and 10 percent marks to the personal interview.
Responding to this, Kondrapalli Srinu said that the government’s decision will be unfair to poor and rural candidates. He said that many students who studied in rural areas have low academic performance. When compared to urban candidates, rural candidates have less command of English, and since they have studied up to a degree in their mother tongue, they have a low score in academics. He also said that interviewing in DL recruitments gives rise to corruption and bias. That is why he asked for interviews to be abolished in government recruitments in the state and job selection should be done only through a written test.
