New update on attempt to rape Plus II girl
Kendrapara: A BJP delegation visited the college where the girl is a Plus II student and discussed with the authorities the circumstances under which the incident took place four days ago. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday held a demonstration in Kudanagari in Odisha’s Kendrapara district and demanded immediate steps to arrest those involved in the alleged attempt to rape a minor college girl.
BJP leaders and workers protested outside the Kudnagari police station, raising slogans and carrying placards and banners.
Accusing the police of inaction, state BJP spokesperson Tejeshwar Parida regretted that even after four days of the incident, the accused has not been arrested yet. He also warned that the saffron party would intensify its protest and call for a bandh against those involved in the kidnapping and attempted rape of the girl.
Let us tell you here that the Plus Two student was allegedly drugged and kidnapped from the college and then an attempt was made to rape her at a deserted place.
The girl’s family members later lodged a police complaint and the incident is under investigation.
