New Year: Devotees visit the Big Temple in Thanjavur to offer prayers to Lord Shiva

Tamil Nadu: Thousands of devotees are visiting the Big Temple in Thanjavur to have darshan of the deity on the occasion of New Year.
The world-famous Big Temple in Thanjavur was built by the great king Rajaraja Chola a thousand years ago.
This temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is an example of Tamil architecture and sculpture.
Thousands of tourists visit this special temple every day to have darshan of the deity.
Due to the ongoing holidays and today’s New Year (January 1), a large number of tourists from different parts of the state have been gathering since morning, standing in long lines to have darshan of the deity.
