NHTSA begins investigation into 91,856 JLR vehicles

Business Business: The US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) on Monday said it has launched a preliminary investigation into 91,856 Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) vehicles over a hazard related to a potential defect in front steering knuckles.

The agency has received reports that one or both of the aluminum front steering knuckles, which connect the front tires to critical components such as the brake assembly, have broken on affected vehicles. The problem can increase the risk of a crash. The investigation is specifically focused on 2014-2017 models of the Range Rover Sport, which were made by JLR’s North American unit.
