No drinking water, no vote, not a single villager reached the polling booth
Bemetra. Village Ghatholi is a dependent village of Gram Panchayat Andu. Polling booth number 257, where the villagers protested against the problem of drinking water, has been locked. Villagers said that for the last several years, political parties and administration have been informed about this several times, yet the problem of drinking water has not ended in our village. Regarding which the villagers have decided not to vote.
Voting had started at 7 am, but till 11 pm only 4 ADCs have exercised their franchise, apart from this no villagers have voted. When the administration got information about this, immediately SDM, Tehsildar, SDO police and police force reached village Ghatholi on the spot. The SDM continued giving advice to the villagers, but the villagers remained adamant on their demand. The officers and employees were completely tired of trying to convince the villagers.
Sub-divisional officer revenue Ghanshyam Tanwar said that there is a demand for water pipe line, due to which the villagers have locked the gate in protest. Hopefully some villagers will come and vote, till now no villager has come and voted, only 4 ADCs have voted. Efforts are being made by talking to the villagers and giving them advice.
